K had ridden a long event the previous Wednesday and was visibly stiff at the meet. M was nominally fresh but had been up late. Easy was the only viable plan.
We did the river path out to the lock and back, which is flat, well-surfaced and uncomplicated. Stopped at the kiosk by the bridge; their flat white is improving and the cake selection was not.
Got back before noon. Total elapsed including coffee: just under two hours. The kind of ride that you don't remember the week after but which keeps the legs working.
